Frama is a multidisciplinary design studio with a beautifully curated showroom in Copenhagen’s Nyboder neighborhood. The store acts as a showroom space for the brand whilst also hosting events including collaborative gatherings as well as art and design installations.
Frama launched their first collection in 2011 and since then, the brand has expanded their range of products to include furniture, lighting, home objects, apothecary, books and even kitchens. Their organic approach to design and their emphasis on natural materials has allowed the brand to create a minimal yet luxurious aesthetic. Their dedication to quality and craftsmanship is very much apparent throughout all their collections and the products are built to last.
Located in the former St. Pauls Apothek, an old pharmacy founded in the 1800s, the brand have kept the original dark wood cabinetry which is used to display their growing range of apothecary products. The ornate and decorative architectural details create an interesting contrast with the minimal Frama aesthetic whilst also reflecting some of the brands more traditional influences.
The timeless designs of their collections connect the imaginative with the practical. This is most evident through some of the more playful pieces in the collection which have unexpected quirks to make them more interesting, such as the Ventus pendant above. A reduced palette of materials is used throughout to create coherency and the overall aesthetic is beautifully minimal.
Frama launched their gender neutral St Paul’s apothecary collection in 2016 and the range has been growing ever since. Each product is crafted with essential oils, made using only hand picked natural ingredients.
