The Modern Edit is a blog featuring a selection of inspiration from the best design practices and studios with a particular focus on stylish interiors and architecture.
Our design ethos focuses on raw, natural materials such as brick, concrete and timber with an emphasis on texture and detailing rather than bright colours and patterns. The fundamental philosophy of Modernism, rejecting ornament and embracing minimalism, is a continuous theme throughout the blog. Taking inspiration from Modernist pioneers such as Frank Lloyd Wright and Mies van der Rohe, The Modern Edit believes that less is more and that good design should be accessible for everyone.
Based in London, The Modern Edit will predominantly feature UK based projects with an emphasis on renovations and extensions. Sustainability is becoming an increasingly important influence on interior design and architecture and therefore is often referred back to in many of our posts.
